This publication presents technical and legal inputs for updating Resolution 909 of 2008, the regulation governing atmospheric pollutant emissions from fixed sources in Colombia. The document analyzes the standards applicable to coal-fired power plants and the coke manufacturing industry, compares Colombian regulation with that of other countries, and reviews information on emissions reported by these sectors. Based on this diagnosis, it proposes new emission limits, the incorporation of pollutants not currently covered, and the use of continuous monitoring technologies to strengthen the protection of public health and air quality.
